Glad to see Marty getting his fair shakes on the PRF....but yeah, an absolutely an amazing narrator for a dying art, and weirdly obsessive collector of ephemera. Love to hear him just ramble. I usually scoff at musical "mojo" talk, but when he testifies that Pops Stapes rosewood Telecaster's humbuckers are "where the magic is"....I tear up a little.
But I generally agree with Anthony that this current incarnation of Marty is a live affair and that while the records sound nice, that's not really where the full experience lies. And covers like that are chosen to showcase the players, not so much for their profundity.

Shoutout to (former?) FM Pwalshj for astutely pointing out Marty's guitar skills and resemblance to a Gremlin, I think of that often.

Also, if you dig boomer guitar freaks telling endless and amazing war stories, I recommend checking out Otis Gibbs' interviews with Kenny Vaughan on Youtube.
(KV is Marty's guitar player in that clip.)
