The "Universal" part of USB sure didn't apply to connectors.
Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2562Haha thanks... I held onto a bunch of firewire stuff for ages so I feel that... Think I'm covered though. The physical connect is not a problem in either configuration. I guess the better question I could have asked was if the janky old camera cord would move audio back and forth in real time or it it limited to dumping photos only. I toyed around a bit with the block sizes and cpu options in Reaper preferences and I think I'm good to go. Thx y'all!W.L.Weller wrote: Mon Sep 08, 2025 2:13 pm If you need another cable, let me know, I've got a box of old cables because of my hoarding problem.

Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2565Which one, the "regular" (old) five pin one or the "conjoined twin" ten pin one that I've only seen on external hard drives? Whatever, PM me your address and I'll send you one of each.GuyLaCroix wrote: Mon Sep 08, 2025 7:57 pm If anyone has a rats nest of micro-B, I'd love one. Been looking for that forever

Re: Small questions that don't fit anywhere
2567Ribbon mics are good for this. A condenser that isn't too strident can do it, a bit off axis several feet from the mic. Low pass and maybe notch out a little bit of anything gnarly ( somewhere between 1k-5k can sometimes be too grating but usually leave the sparkle up above).llllllllllllllllllll wrote: Tue Sep 09, 2025 12:39 am Wasted a night on a goddamn tambourine. I was setting up my guitar last night, and it had been awhile since using those card-sized measurement tools for doing this since my eyes went old-age. I'm having a hard time seeing the little lines, even with my prescriptions. Are there tools for old farts who have a hard time reading small print?
