Is it out there, or do you have to subscribe to Patreon or similar?

112Not offhand, she comes up from time to time but there was one episode when he went in depth on Nightwood, will see if I can find it… the episode descriptions are kind of all over the place.enframed wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 12:01 pmThanks for this. Re: Podcast Recommendations
113Much appreciated thank you. I'd pay to hear that. Too few people discuss her, IMO. Nightwood is my very favorite book.llllllllllllllllllll wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 12:34 pmNot offhand, she comes up from time to time but there was one episode when he went in depth on Nightwood, will see if I can find it… the episode descriptions are kind of all over the place.enframed wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 12:01 pmThanks for this. Sticking to podcasts about books, I forgot about Spinecrackers, which does have an episode about Nightwood.

Re: Podcast Recommendations
115For sure - apparently particular Patreon episodes can’t be directly linked unless the creator sends a link, so couldn’t link to an individual episode, it would just share my whole subscriber feed. I msg’d that guy asking for a link to that one in particular, will see if he responds.jimmy spako wrote: Tue Dec 09, 2025 6:13 amThanks! Re: Podcast Recommendations
117Joe Boyd has a wonderful podcast (now defunct) that is a sort of A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs by someone who was actually there (for some of it), and condensed into 11-minute episodes. He’s basically just going through his crazy ass record collection and telling stories and I love it.
This is the producer behind early Pink Floyd singles, Fairport Convention, Nick Drake, etc. His books are also great.
It’s called Joe Boyd’s A-Z and is easy to find.

Re: Podcast Recommendations
119Heroin playlist dropped, based on the last (not public) episode. It’s quite good and arranged nicely, probably better than looking at the song titles would suggest as there is some deep stuff I haven’t heard alongside a lot of the old stalwarts:llllllllllllllllllll wrote: Sun Dec 07, 2025 12:21 am Regular reminder that you really need to drop in on:

Like a decent Verlaine interview, this guy is especially good at pointing out the fusion stuff that you actually need to listen to. It sits nicely among the Can, Cale, early Dr John stuff we’re all familiar with.
It’s showing under public posts, but I’m not sure how it might look if you don’t have a patreon acct, but it’s here anyways.
Re: Podcast Recommendations
120Found a really great music-related podcast (Unsung Podcast) and love pretty much everything about it, except the hosts have Glaswegian accents I can only understand roughly 50% of the time. I'm a native English speaker and, aside from bits of Cockney, I can't think of any other English accent that's given me this much trouble. I had to rewind three times to realize "feddet beg uh tray" was "far-Right bigotry."
No mark against them; the problem is clearly me and my dumbass American ears. They do at least have a youtube channel where you can turn on subtitles.
